Monarchy
The word Monarchy came from the Greek words mono’s and archein which means one and to rule. It is a type of government that has a Monarch which is called “head of state which rulesthe government. In a Monarchy, the king or queen reigns for their lifetime but a “republic” (i.e.U.S.A.) is elected for a certain amount of time. Right now there ate 29 extant Monarchies around the world.
Most of our Monarchies are constituted by tradition or in other situations by codified law and so they have hardly any political power, but in others they rule supremely. Sometimes democracy and Monarchy combine to form a constitutional monarchy (i.eCanada).
This is one of the oldest forms of government. A monarch represented the main god of there society. He or she ruled until things went wrong (i.e. famine). Then the people would overthrow them. Other monarchs got power from support of the people.
In a monarchy the boss is the king and if there is no king it would be the queen. When they die the eldest son will rule the kingdom. If there were no sons then the eldest daughter will be the ruler. The children; princes and princesses, are trained to be good leaders from birth.
I personally think this isn't the best form of government because the people don’t have a choice who the monarch is. Most times they might have a good king or queen. If not, the people will rise up in arms and overthrow the monarchy.
So who is the real boss? Well as long as the King or Queen does well by the people, and follows the rules, they are.
